EVERYBODY SING AND DANCE NOW CHILD SAFETY POLICY
Introduction
EBSDN strives to ensure the safety of performers throughout all practices relating to and facilitated while they are attending an EBSDN event. This policy guides staff, volunteers and attendees at all EBSDN events and is about providing guidance on behaving and respecting children in this space.
Staff, Volunteers and Teachers
All staff and volunteers working at events are required to hold a valid WWCC (NSW) or BLUE CARD (QLD) card at the event, evidence of which is requested before the commencement of the event.
Dressing Area or Change Rooms
NO PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY is permitted in changing areas, backstage or in the theatre.
Troupes Studios and Teachers
1. Studios are required to provide a list of performer names prior to the event to allow for preparation of sign-in/out sheets to be provided in teacher packs.
2. In the event of a fire or other necessary evacuation, the sign-in sheets will be used to confirm the presence of performers, therefore this information must be kept accurate.
Performers
1. Under the EBSDN syllabus, dancing en pointe is not permitted for performers 11U.
2. There are to be no rehearsals conducted in hallways or on the stage at any EBSDN locations at any time.
Concerns or Complaints
1. Voluntary reporting applies to all attendees at an event and is encouraged in the event of any suspected child safety concerns.
2. Staff and volunteers can raise any concerns regarding child safety with the appropriate supervisor at the event.
3. Never leave an EBSDN with a problem, always speak to an EBSDN staff member about it.
Everybody Sing and Dance Now.
1. Before and during the event, EBSDN will provide regular communication regarding updates and reminders on our group page on Facebook.
2. In the event of suggestions or complaints regarding the practices in place during an event, considerations and amendments will be made accordingly to prevent future events of similar nature.
3. Comments and suggestions are welcome from children, families, co-ordinators, volunteers and attendees with policy and practices updated accordingly.
