About the Event



  • Must be received by the due date.
  • Entries will not be added to the schedule until full payment has been received.
  • Entry fees will be accepted through PayPal
  • Places are limited and entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. EBSDN reserves the right to bring forward the Registration
  • Registrations will only be accepted by Studio Directors and can be made on-line and following the links.As we sell out every year, please as enter as soon asap. 

             Cost - $40.00 per troupe


  •  No refund will be granted, unless a section has been cancelled by Everybody Sing and Dance Now.
  • We can, however combine sections due to lack of numbers. 
  • Everybody Sing and Dance Now, does reserve the right to change competition days or move the location due to unforeseen circumstances and entries will not be refunded, but we can give a credit to another of our events.  
  • We DO NOT provide refunds for change of mind, or clash with another competition or commitment. 
  • If you have made a mistake (e.g. double entries) or the dancer is injured (with proof) we will transfer to another of our events.


  • The maximum time limit for each troupe is 5 minutes.
  • Items exceeding the time limit will be disqualified and not eligible for a prize.  


  • NOVICE TROUPES - Is a troupe with little or no experience in competing, i.e. not a NEW troupe made up of existing experienced, competitive troupe members.
  • There must be a minimum of 70 percent of novice dancers in NOVICE TROUPE SECTIONS.
  • The troupe must be completely new to competitions and eisteddfods.
  •  You may have experienced soloists in these groups, BUT NOT ALL.
  • EBSDN depends on studio owners to enter our NOVICE sections correctly AND honestly.  


  • To make it easier for studios Everybody Sing and Dance Now we allow a maximum of 2 competitors in a group to be within 1 year older than the competing age group.
  •  If a studio has entered 12 Under Jazz and you have 2 performers who turned 12 in the December before the cut off this is ok, however, if there is more than two in the group, you will need to be registered in the age group above (14/U) 
  •  Please contact us for clarification if required.
  • EBSDN reserves the right to join age groups if entrant quota is not met. 
  • Proof of age can be requested at the event if deemed necessary by Everybody Sing and Dance Now. 
  • In the case of a dispute arising in respect of the age of any performer Everybody Sing and Dance Now can request copies of a birth certificate to be produced.
  • If full time students are combined with recreational schools when performing, the following rules apply: 
  • Troupes must contain no more than the following:1 – 10 performers, maximum of 2 full time students or 1 – 20+ performers - maximum of 5 full time students allowed.  


  • There will be a panel of 2 adjudicators for each session.
  • Adjudicators will score individually and points will be combined for a total out of 200.
  • Technique 40%
  • Unison 20%
  • Presentation 20%
  • Choreography/Staging 10%
  • Entertainment Value 10%
  • Total =100%  


  • 6 and Under
  • 8 and Under
  • 10 and Under
  • 12 and Under
  • 14 and Under
  • 16 and Under
  • Open Age
  • Adult     


Jazz - A routine that utilises jazz technique.

Tap - A routine utilising tap technique.

Entertainment - A routine that combines singing, miming and dancing.

Production - A routine must have at least 15 dancers incorporating any style of dance or combination of dance styles.

MUST portray a story line, plot or narrative throughout, resembling that of a film, book, play, musical,etc. 

Props are MANDATORY and free standing. Adults and teachers are permitted to perform in the Production category. 

Time Limit for Production - 10 Minutes. 

Hip Hop - A routine that consists of street styles of dance.

Broadway Jazz - A routine that consists of Fosse’s work, which is exemplified by Broadway shows such as Chicago, Cabaret and Sweet Charity. 

Modern/Lyrical - A routine that Is a fusion of ballet, jazz and contemporary dance techniques.Lyrical dancing is performed to music with lyrics that inspire the choreography and that are used to express strong emotions or cover a clear theme.

Contemporary - A routine utilising a contemporary style of movement, which may be abstract or fluid. Non-traditional lines and shapes can be used, and choreography may incorporate a story line, theme or mood.Classical Ballet - A routine that consists of classical steps and ballet technique.

Own Choice - A routine demonstrating any dance style or combination of dance styles.​

  • Everybody Sing and Dance Now reserves the right to combine sections depending on entries received.
  • Performers' Age is calculated from 1st January.
  • All troupe performers must be within the correct age limit of the section.
  • Age Averaging will not apply for Everybody Sing and Dance Now 
  • EBSDN  reserves the right to combine age categories depending on entries received.  


  • Small Troupes  4 to 12 performers.
  • Large Troupes 13 and up performers. 
  • EBSDN reserves the right to combine section categories if there are not enough entrants.   


  • All prizes will be announced and distributed in a special awards ceremony at the end of each AGE GROUPS session.
  • All participating students will be invited onto the stage in their studio groups.
  • Two representatives from each school should be nominated to accept the award on behalf of the troupe.
  • Special awards will also be presented for the following categories:
  • Highest Troupe Point Score
  • EBSDN Teachers Award
  • EBSDN Backstage Troupe Award
  • EBSDN OMG Best Costume Award


  • Prizes -  winners will be awarded 1st 2nd 3rd places with trophies.
  • All performers in troupes will receive an Everybody Sing and Dance Now certificate.
  • Studio owners and teachers we need you to email us how many you have in total of your troupe students, please. 
  • Everybody Sing and Dance Now reserves the right to provide alternate prizes at our discretion.
  •  Performers - Everybody Sing and Dance Now is open to amateurs only.
  • An amateur refers to a person whose principal source of income is not and has not been derived from the exercise or teaching of dance.
  • Performers must enter and compete in their own age group, and no competing below age is permitted.
  • Bullying - Everybody Sing and Dance Now,  does not tolerate bullying, including inappropriate comments or actions.
  • This will NOT be tolerated at ANY - Everybody Sing and Dance Now event and will result in instant disqualification, upon investigation.
  • Change Rooms - all entrants are to change in the allocated changing rooms ONLY.
  • Dressing rooms will be allocated at the beginning of each day for TROUPES and we also send an email out to studios with a floor map, along with program.
  • Please remember to respect each other’s space and personal belongings.
  •  Please ensure all dressing rooms are tidy at the end of the day.
  • Any messy changing rooms will result in a cleaning fee (payable by the entrants who shared the dressing room) up too $300.00 
  • Any entrant found to have caused damage to the dressing room will be charged the relevant repair costs. If existing damage is found within the dressing room, please notify  EBSDN COMMITTEE MEMBER immediately. 
  • Photos will be taken of each dressing room at the beginning of each day; if any damage has been found by the   relevant entrants, a repair fee may be requested.
  • Please be mindful when taking photos as performers are in states of undress and imagine your child or troupes in the background, getting changed.  
  • MUSIC 
  • Everybody Sing and Dance Now - LOVES MUSIC ON USB. 
  • However, it must be in order that your troupes are performing in.​
  •  Example - Danze Gallery - 6/u Jazz , 6/u Lyrical, 8/u Jazz, 6/u Hip Hop, 8/u Contemporary, 12/u Tap, 12/u Jazz​
  •  Music must be handed in to our music desk at front of house.
  •  We take all the music for the morning session 30 minutes prior to event starting.
  • Music must be handed in for afternoon and evening sessions 30 minutes before the session commences.
  • Everybody Sing and Dance Now have our own sound technician, the equipment is of a very high standard so if your CD is scratched ever so slightly it will not work!
  •  We will not accept any CD with stickers on them, at all!  Music must be of good quality, pre-recorded at appropriate volume level and pitch completely edited with At least a 3 second lead In.
  • Please, please do not use rewritable CD as these are meant for computers and are at times not recognised in   sensitive audio equipment.
  • Please bring a backup of all music on CD USB IPOD or iPhone as if your CD fails to read, this will be the only way to play your music!  

Time limit - is 5 minutes for Troupes. 

  • If your music goes over the time limit by more than 15 seconds, your music will be faded out without warning. Routines exceeding maximum allowed length will receive a report only and will not be eligible for a placing.
  • Parking - please remind parents to allow plenty of time to park, with so many performers parking is always going to be difficult.  
  • Check In - Only Teachers need to check in to pick up Teacher ID. Students should not check in but be prepared to meet teachers at a prearranged spot.
  • Schedule - You must be prepared to perform at least 1 hour before your time, as some studios might not show up!! Costume changes with 3 or less numbers will be accommodated.
  • Everybody Sing and Dance Now will move up or back up performances to keep the competition running on time.
  • Troupes are expected to perform in the order they are scheduled.
  • However, in the case of insufficient entries in any event they may be combined with similar events.
  • Song and Costume Choice - Please take care to select costumes, music, routine for general audience appeal. Inappropriate choreography or costumes too revealing may have deductions per discretion of the judges. Our audience is made up of parents and   impressionable young students!
  • Protests -  Must be lodged in writing within 15 minutes of the completion of the section. Each protest must be   accompanied by a fee of $50.00 which will be forfeited if the protest is dismissed.
  •  Props - That are to be used for a performance must be side stage prior to the session commencing and to be taken straight off after performance.
  • Any props that require any form of power, must be tested and tagged within the date of the competition. 
  • It is the responsibility of the Studio Owner or a Teacher to place props on the stage and to ensure that there are enough people to assist if required, no more than 2 extra people.
  •  There is a 60 second time limit to set props on stage for troupes.
  • The Backstage Manager MUST be notified of any props and people assisting side stage. If props are to be used at all, they should be appropriate and be a fully integrated part of the performance.
  •  No baby powder, hairspray, glitter, or liquid to be sprayed or used on stage at all!!
  • Props are not to be dragged pulled or pushed onto stage area without wheels to protect stage floor. 
  • ANY Persons not adhering to this requirement will not be able to use the prop on stage.​
  • Safety is paramount in the use of props at EBSDN we do not take responsibility for any injuries caused using   props. (Please read section safety/injury)
  •  Any props left over at the conclusion of the event, will be placed in the bin.
  •  Prompting - is ONLY allowed in 4/u and 6/u troupe sections. NO PROMPTING from anywhere by students, studio   owners and teachers during the performance. 
  • Anyone caught prompting in any other age group (except 4/u and 6/u) will lose 20 points from the total score. I know it’s hard when you are side stage and you just want to say something!
  • Sportsmanship - All dancers and teachers are expected to display good sportsmanship. Failure to do so will result in immediate   disqualification.
  • Cancellations - Everybody Sing and Dance Now  reserves the right to cancel any competition due to number of entries, or any other circumstance deemed   necessary.
  • No refund of money if the entrant is unable to attend the event on the new nominated day.
  •  Locations - Everybody Sing and Dance Now reserves the right to add additional competition days or move the competition location due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Any change in competition days and/or times is at the sole discretion of Everybody Sing and Dance Now and will be determined by the amount of time available at each competition.
  • Lost Property - Everybody Sing and Dance Now is not responsible for lost property.
  • Please do not leave your property and valuables in the auditorium or change rooms or unattended vehicles.
  • Please be responsible for all personal belongings.
  • Be aware of surroundings and inform Everybody Sing and Dance Now representative of unsuitable or suspicious activity.
  • Safety and Injury - Participating in sport or dance competitions can be rigorous and result in injury.
  • They can include, but not limited to, sprains, bruises, pulled muscles, and broken bones. Participation in Everybody Sing and Dance Now indicates the acceptance of such risks by performers and troupes.
  • Therefore, by virtue of entering this event, it is agreed that participants will not hold Everybody Sing and Dance Now or its officers, directors, staff, volunteers responsible for any sustained injuries sustained or illness contracted by them while in attendance and /or participating in any activity related to Everybody Sing and Dance Now 
  • Everybody Sing and Dance Now and the hosting venues are not responsible for personal injury to contestants, spectators or staff.
  • The safety of our competition dancers, spectators and staff  is paramount at all EBSDN events.  
  • Due to Everybody Sing and Dance Now being a public event we encourage  all attendees to - Supervise children at all times. 
  • It is advisable that if you have a child under 13yrs of age, an adult should go to the toilet with them. 
  • Disclaimer - Photographs/recordings of participants by any of the Everybody Sing and Dance Now  staff, contractors, or members of the press become the property of Everybody Sing and Dance Nowand may be used for future publicity. 
  • The use of photos and videos for marketing purposes is granted to Everybody Sing and Dance Now upon receipt of a paid entry. This consent would remain in place for 4 years.
  • Everybody Sing and Dance Now and its organizers are not responsible for any injuries incurred and your registration and participation mean   implied consent. {Please read safety and injury}
  • Third party photos are strictly prohibited, Everybody Sing and Dance Now reserves the right to control and mandate all venue images, the sale of any photos for profit from a Everybody Sing and Dance Now competition by any third party vendor, studio or patron is strictly prohibited.
  • Everybody Sing and Dance Now reserves the right to change competition days or move location due to unforeseen circumstances and entries will not be refunded.
  • Everybody Sing and Dance Now does not accept late entries, also once entry has been received there is NO REFUND.
  • Once the program is available a $5.00 fee will be charged for any changes or adjustments to current entries. 
  • This includes changing the style of the performance, changing the age group, changing from small, medium to large, or any other changes that are a result of your incorrect registration. 
  • This fee will not be charged when Everybody Sing and Dance Now have made an error, or we combine sections and have offered alternative sections.
