  • PLEASE READ ALL THE RULES BELOW!
  • Please understand that his event could be cancelled or modified at any time without notice.
  • Contact tracing will apply during this event, please download the QLD CHECK IN APP. All attendees MUST complete the required QR Code at the event.
  • Please make sure you, or anyone accompanying you are not showing signs or symptoms of a cough, cold or flu at the time of the event as stated by QLD Government COVID-19 Restrictions.
  • If you do not have a fever, above 37.5 degrees celsius, at the time of the event.
  • You are NOT supposed to be in isolation at the time the event commences as per current government guidelines.
  • You agree to not cover up any cough or cold, and will remove yourself or anyone accompanying you that have these symptoms.
  • You will READ AND AGREE at the point of entry of your routines – THIS IS A STRICT MUST DO!
  • Without agreement on your entry, your entry will not be processed.
  • The hosting of this event is subject to the evolving impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • EBSDN will take all steps necessary to ensure that the event is compliant with rules and guidelines issued by the Government leading up to and at the time of the event.
  • If at any point the GOVERNMENT changes the rulings of events, and the venue moves our date.
  • We will make the move to have this event online, it is the only way forward, if COVID-19 or a snap lockdown occurs.  We have successfully held online events, and I feel secure in the knowledge that it will be successful.
  • Performers MUST sanitise their hands when they go on and off stage.
  • We also ask that you bring your own hand sanitiser, we will have hand sanitiser, but ask you bring your own as well.
  • All performers will sit in the audience with their parent or guardian.
  • Performers MUST bring a mat to warm up on.
  • EBSDN will not be selling spectator tickets for any 2022 events.
  • Due to COVID-19 occupancy rules, limits and restrictions.
  • We will include in each soloist or duo's entry fees, ONE spectator ticket.
  • This is ONLY for SOLO and DUO.
  • All performer passes are non refundable; they are part of the condition of entry.
  • Additional spectators for solo performances will be dependent on the number of entries and if we can, you will be able to purchase online 2 weeks before the competition, online - www.ebsdn.com
  • As per normal solos and duos will be done in age block groups!

  • Solo/Duo/Trio Performer Registration Fee - $35.00 includes entry for the performer and ONE guest, ONLY.
  • Mr or Miss EBSDN TITLE - $45.00 ( REPEAT ALLOWED)
  • EBSDN Student Choreography Title - $45.00 (REPEAT ALLOWED)
  • EBSDN Contemporary/ Lyrical Title - $45.00 (REPEAT ALLOWED)
  • EBSDN Age Groups - 5/U. 7/U. 9/U. 11/U. 13/U. 15/U. Open Age
  • Title Section Age Groups - PETITE. PRE JUNIOR. JUNIOR. PRE TEEN. TEEN. SENIOR.
  • Any competitor who has been a regular pupil of the adjudicators within 1 year, prior to the opening date of competition may compete for critique only.
  • Entries close when competition is FULL.
  • Please enter as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.
  • Entries that have NOT been paid for will not be accepted until payment has been received.
  • Payment is via PayPal when entering online.
  • When entering through the website an invoice will be emailed to you.
  • This is not confirmation your entry has been accepted.
  • Entry is not accepted or processed until payment is received by Everybody Sing and Dance Now.
  • Entries can only be made with our online booking system and payment can be made with PayPal.
  • Entries cannot be submitted or paid for any other way.

  • REFUNDS - PLEASE READ
  • DUE TO COVID-19 - If at any point the GOVERNMENT changes the rulings FOR events or a snap lockdown occurs, or they close borders, or if you live in a hot spot or we as organisers live in a hot spot, or the venue moves our dates, because of COVID-19.
  • NO REFUNDS will be granted, as EBSDN will postpone the competition to a future date, or we will  move the competition online.
  • This is the only way forward for all of us, we will give you a FULL credit to another of our competitions, if you can not make future competition dates.
  • EBSDN, does reserve the right to change competition days or move the location due to unforeseen circumstances and entries and registration fee will not be refunded.
  • EBSDN DOES NOT provide refunds for change of mind, performer deciding not to perform anymore, a clash with another competition, family or studio commitment.
  • If you have made a mistake (e.g. double entries) or the dancer is injured (with proof) we will transfer to another of our competitions.
  • EBSDN can, combine sections due to lack of numbers.
  • If EBSDN is cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic or other catastrophic event or natural disaster or situation out of the control of EBSDN control, we will implement the details ABOVE.
  • We have successfully held online events, and I feel secure in the knowledge that it will be successful.
  • ALL SOLO/ DUO/TRIO EVENTS WILL MOVE TO ONLINE IF THE GOVERNMENT CHANGES THE RULINGS, 
  • SNAP LOCKDOWN OCCURS, OR BECAUSE OF BORDER CLOSURES.

  • INDEMNITY
  • All attendees, including but not limited to, Dancers, Singers, Parents/Caregivers, Teachers, Directors, Volunteers and Patrons, indemnify and keep indemnified Everybody Sing and Dance Now ( EBSDN) and its committee members and operators on both a commercial and personal basis against all actions, suits,proceedings, claims, demands, costs, and expenses whatsoever which may be made against the registered EBSDN and or its volunteer members in carrying out the duties and requirements in terms of the event and these rules.

  • TIME LIMITS
  • 5/U - 7/U Solos -  2 ½ minutes
  • Other Solo/Duo/Trio - 3 minutes
  • Troupes - 4 minutes

  • SECTION DEFINITIONS
  • Restricted: For performers who have not WON in that genre.
  • Open: For performers who have WON a performance in the genre entered.
  • My First Solo: This is for performers who are performing a solo for their first time.
  • Late Entry, Charges, Cancellations and Admittance
  • EBSDN DOES NOT HAVE A WAITLIST
  • EBSDN will not accept late entries, once an entry has been received there is NO REFUND.
  • NO refunds will be issued after your entry has been received and you cannot ask for a refund for change of mind.
  • PLEASE REFER TO REFUND SECTION ABOVE.
  • EBSDN reserves the right to refuse entry to any person.
  • On entry you give your consent for EBSN to use and retain the name and image of your child for the purposes of public relations, media and promotion in print or through the EBSDN Facebook page and website.
  • This consent would remain in place for 3 years.
  • Entries must be received by the closing date.
  • You cannot make changes once the program has been finalised.
  • EBSDN reserves the right to combine low section numbers.

  • MUSIC
  • EBSDN is a family event.
  • First and foremost - All music, lyrics and dance attire MUST be age appropriate! ​
  • Failure to comply will result in disqualification.
  • Time limits are the maximum allowed and will be counted from the moment the music or dialogue begins.
  • If performers go over this, you will receive a 5 point deduction.
  • Performers must adhere to copyright responsibilities.
  • EBSDN are not responsible for any infringement of copyright, royalty or privacy laws by performers or persons associated with the performance.

  • MUSIC UPLOADS

  • You will need to purchase a package from music uploads which start from $3 for the year and then an additional $2.50 per event.
  • ALL MUSIC MUST BE UPLOADED THROUGH THIS PLATFORM
  • You will find this easier to do on a computer as some phones are not compatible.

  • Only MP3 Format will be accepted.
  • All music must be uploaded and checked into the music system no less than 14 days prior to the commencement of the event.
  • Each performer, parent or guardian understands that a small fee will be applied at completion of upload and payable by the entrant.
  • It is the responsibility of the performers parent or guardian to ensure that the correct music files have been uploaded to each routine. If a music file is corrupt we would hope to have this identified in the 14 days prior to comp.
  • EBSDN does not have the ability to fix this, every effort will be made to advise you if possible.
  • However, music files are the sole responsibility of the entrant to ensure they are accurate and playable audio upon upload.
  • It is the responsibility of the performer to have a backup of their music.
  • This can be either USB or iPhone.
  • Our music staff will operate all music equipment.
  • All music must be cured and cut appropriately for the routine.
  • Vocals are permitted for Tap music, however please ensure they do not overwhelm the tapping.
  • Competitors may not accompany pre-recorded vocals in song and dance routines.
  • Each dancer will have registered with the Music upload programme when requested to do so after you enter, you are then responsible for remembering their log in details and passwords.
  • This is where any music changes can be made leading up to the event, including checking music during the event.

  • EBSDN MY FIRST SOLO EVER
  • Upon entering this section, it is for those performers who ARE performing their first SOLO EVER!!!
  • Age groups will be as follows -
  • Petite 6/U. Pre Junior 7 to 8 yrs. Junior 9 to 10yrs. Intermediate 11 to 12yrs.
  • Teen 13 to 15yrs. Senior 16 plus yrs.

  • EBSDN STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHY TITLE
  • If you would like your performer to enter EBSDN Student Choreography Title you must tick this section on entry.
  • This TITLE must be totally choreographed in its entirety by the student.
  • You must enter Student Choreograpy section and 1 other section to able to compete in this title.
  • Junior EBSDN Student Choreography Title - 9 Under
  • Pre Teen EBSDN Champion of Champion 12 Under
  • Teen EBSDN Champion of Champion 15 Under
  • Senior Championship – 16 Over
  • ONE WINNER IN EACH SECTION ONLY!

  • EBSDN CONTEMPORARY /LYRICAL TITLE
  • If you would like your performer to enter EBSDN Contemporary/ Lyrical Title you must tick this section on entry.
  • It's all about CONNECTION the connection between you, the adjudicators and the audience.
  • It's about not hearing a pin drop when you are performing!
  • To be able to enter this section, the performer must have danced in lyrical and contemporary sections.
  • EBSDN Contemporary/Lyrical Title will be judged on:
  • Technique 25
  • Choreography 20
  • Entertainment 20
  • Stage Presence 10
  • Costume 10
  • First Foot On Stage 5
  • Audience Factor 10
  • Total = 100​
  • We will have 1 Winner Only!!!

  • Mr and Miss EBSDN​ ENTERTAINMENT TITLE
  • If you would like you performer to enter Mr or Miss EBSDN, you must tick this section on entry.
  • It's all about Entertainment and WHAT you bring in our MR and MISS EBSDN section.
  • It's about what the performers bring to entertain our audience in this title section.
  • To be able to enter this section, the performer must of danced in 3 sections.
  • Entertainment is what matters the most!
  • You can hear a PIN drop in a lyrical or contem
  • The roar of the crowd with a Tap, Jazz, Broadway Jazz, Hip Hop, Song and Dance.
  • Mr and Miss EBSDN will be judged on:
  • Technique 20
  • Choreography 20
  • Entertainment 20
  • Stage Presence 10
  • Costume 10
  • First Foot On Stage 10
  • Audience Factor 10
  • Total = 100​
  • We will have 1 Winner and One Runner Up.

  • EBSDN CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - GRAND TITLE
  • EBSDN Champion of Champions, is the top 7 highest point scores from each age group.
  • Contenders will be announced at the end of their age group during final adjudication.
  • Yes there is a cost to enter - $50.00 which must be paid at the venue.
  • They must place in the top 7 of their age group and register with front desk asap and pay the $50 performance fee.
  • If you do not register your performer, your performer is not eligible to enter.
  • Once registered and paid, they will go through to EBSDN Champion of Champions Showdown and Battle it out for the TOP SPOTS!
  • What happens next?
  • The performers will perform their highest scoring routine that they performed in their section, on the final day of the competition.
  • They will then battle it out for the TOP SCORE in their age group with two adjudicators.

  • CHOREOGRAPHY ​OWNERSHIP.
  • Parents, Dancers and Teachers/Choreographers - Please be aware of what routines are being performed.
  • If a student has left a dance studio please ensure you have permission from past choreographers/teachers to be able to continue to perform routines who's ownership may be in question at any competition.
  • Please understand that disputes in regards to this must be mediated and handled with class on not on the social media platform, or the event itself by the parties involved.
  • Failure to do so we will see disqualification for all parties involved.
  • If on social media Everybody Sing and Dance Now is named for allowing a routine to go on stage EBSDN will impose a years ban to any EBSDN competition.
  • EBSDN will not get involved in this, we simply ask that you all do the right thing.

  • GENRES DANCE
  • Jazz - A routine that utilises jazz technique.
  • Tap - A routine utilising tap technique.
  • Hip Hop - A routine that consists of street styles of dance.
  • Song and Dance - A routine that combines singing and dancing.
  • Broadway Jazz / Musical Theatre  - Must be performed to music from musicals TV, film or stage.
  • Modern/Lyrical - A routine that Is a fusion of ballet, jazz and contemporary dance techniques.
  • Contemporary - A routine utilising a contemporary style of movement, which may be abstract or fluid.
  • Classical Ballet - A routine that consists of classical steps and ballet technique.
  • Demi Character - Based on classical ballet technique, the portrayal of a storyline must be strong and equal to the dance.
  • OPEN - A solo of mixed genres that does not fit into another category. It can also be a second genre.

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • By entering EBSDN you agree to abide by the rules and regulations as outlined in our Syllabus.
  • EBSDN public liability does not comprehensively cover injury to performers therefore individuals and studios must ensure that they are adequately covered whilst performing or otherwise enter at their own risk.
  • By entering EBSDN, you give consent  to use and retain the name and image of your child for the purposes of public relations, media and promotion in print or through our social media and website.
  • This consent would remain in place for 3 years unless you advise otherwise.
  • Rules and Regulations pertaining to each section are outlined in this Syllabus and will not be repeated in the program.
  • Changes to some rules may occur from year to year, therefore it is imperative that all instructions are read carefully. Disqualification may follow if rules are not observed.
  • Time limits stated are maximum allowed.
  • Cameras are not permitted and mobile phones must be switched off at all times in dressing rooms and backstage areas.
  • Competitors must change in dressing rooms and public areas are not to be utilised as change rooms.
  • No food or drink permitted in dressing rooms apart from bottled water.
  • Absolutely no rehearsing in corridors, passageways or side stage.
  • Bullying - EBSDN, does not tolerate bullying, including inappropriate comments or actions.
  • This will NOT be tolerated at ANY - EBSDN Competition and will result in instant disqualification, upon investigation.
  • Repeats - Performers in Open Sections from 9yrs and over cannot repeat their dance after forgetting it, they will be judged on what they have performed.
  • They will not be eligible for a place.
  • Repeats will be allowable for younger age groups at the discretion of the adjudicator.
  • Repeats in restricted sections 9/under after breakdown, will be able to repeat their performance for the adjudicator and marked on such an attempt.
  • FIRST AID BE SAFE BE PREPARED!
  • Not all venues have the facilities for ice-packs.
  • Each Studio MUST provide their own first aid person, ice, and first aid kit for TROUPES!
  • EBSDN volunteers and staff are not responsible for providing any first aid equipment or ice/heat products.

  • DISCLAIMER
  • Photographs/recordings of participants by any of the EBSDN staff, contractors, or members of the press become the property of Everybody Sing and Dance Now and may be used for future publicity.
  • The use of photos and videos for marketing purposes is granted to EBSDN upon receipt of a paid entry.
  • This consent would remain in place for 4 years.
  • EBSDN and its organisers are not responsible for any injuries incurred and your registration and participation mean implied consent. {Please read safety and injury}
  • Third party photos are strictly prohibited, EBSDN reserves the right to control and mandate all venue images, the sale of any photos for profit from a EBSDN competition by any third party vendor, studio or patron is strictly prohibited.
  • EBSDN reserves the right to change competition days or move location due to unforeseen circumstances and entries will not be refunded.
  • EBSDN does not accept late entries, also once entry has been received there is NO REFUND.
  • We DO NOT provide refunds for change of mind, clash with another competition, other commitment or if you have made a mistake e.g. double entries.
  • If an event is cancelled - your performer will be transferred to another event if for some reason, they can not make that event, a credit will be issued.
  • If the  dancer is injured, we will transfer to another event or offer a refund with the doctors certificate, only!

  • SAFETY AND INJURY
  • Participating in sport or dance competitions can be rigorous and result in injury.
  • They can include, but not limited to, sprains, bruises, pulled muscles, and broken bones.
  • Participation in EBSDN indicates the acceptance of such risks by performers and troupes.
  • Therefore, by virtue of entering this event, it is agreed that participants will not hold EBSDN or its officers, directors, staff, volunteers responsible for any sustained injuries sustained or illness contracted by them while in attendance and /or participating in any activity related to EBSDN
  • EBSDN and the hosting venues are not responsible for personal injury to contestants, spectators or staff.
  • The safety of our competition dancers, spectators and staff  is paramount at all EBSDN events.
  • Due to EBSDN being a public event we encourage all attendees.
  • Please supervise children at all times.
  • It is advisable that if you have a child under 13yrs of age, an adult should please, go to the toilet with them.
  • Please be responsible for YOUR personal belongings.
  • Please be aware of surroundings and inform an EBSDN staff member of unsuitable or suspicious activity.

  • RULES AND REGULATIONS
  • Unless otherwise stated, EBSDN is for amateur performers only i.e. any person who does not derive nor has ever derived his or her main income or a substantial income as a teacher and/or performer in the particular category of performing arts for which he/she wishes to enter.
  • An amateur refers to a person whose principal source of income is not and has not been derived from the exercise or teaching of dance. Performers must enter and compete in their own age group, and no competing below age is permitted.
  • Performers may enter an age group older than their own, if a genre isn’t available in their own age group. No person may enter under a name other than their own, and entries are not transferable.
  • Performers must be ready to compete in the order in which their name appears in the program and will not be allowed to compete out of section.No performer will be allowed to compete more than once in any solo section unless sections are combined.
  • Competitors must be aware of copyright responsibilities. EBSDN is in no way responsible for personal breach of copyright. If in doubt APRA and  AMCOS may be contacted directly.
  • Entries close, when we are full, please submit entries as early as possible online.
  • Online payment will be by PayPal or direct debit​

  • It is the responsibility of the entrants, teacher, parent or carer to list the correct section numbers on entry.
  • The Committee accepts no responsibility for incorrect entries received.
  • Entry fees are not refundable unless the section is cancelled by EBSDN or there is an error in programming.
  • Unless otherwise stated, any one item may be performed once only by a competitor during the Event - except for Shining Stars.
  • ​Time limits must be observed. These are the maximum - an item may be shorter than the limit but not exceed it. Should time limits be exceeded, the adjudicator will penalise.
  • ​EBSDN reserves the right to cancel, combine or split any section/s.
  • ​EBSDN reserves the right to appoint a new adjudicator should it be deemed necessary.
  • ​ If there are not  two performers in a section, that section will be merged with another section or cancelled.
  • ​Prompting, except by an adjudicator, is not permitted.
  • ​ Performers who have been pupils of an adjudicator within one year prior to the event start date will only be eligible for report ONLY.
  • ​Unless specifically invited by the adjudicator, contact must not be made directly by teachers, competitors or parents.
  • ​Mobile phones must be switched off backstage and change room areas at all venues. No cameras allowed in these areas. Mobile phones, cameras and video recorders.No photographs during a performance.
  • ​Any item having to withdraw after entering must notify Everybody Sing and Dance Now as soon as possible to ensure smooth programming of the event.
  • ​Performers must be present at the beginning of the session as withdrawals may alter the order of appearance. Due to this, it is unwise to anticipate exact performance times.
  • ​Any protest or objection must be referred to Jenny  within 30 minutes of the Adjudicator's decision In the case of a dispute arising in respect of the age of any competitor and his/her eligibility to appear in any age grouping.
  • EBSDN reserves the right to request a copy of the birth certificate of that competitor.
  • Anonymous letters will NOT be considered and if there is any out pouring on Social Media in bullying a performer, parent, teacher, volunteer or adjudicator. Whoever is responsible will not be able to enter an EBSDN event, again.
  • Every care will be taken for competitors' safety, but EBSDN will not be responsible for any injuries sustained by any performer and or damage to property during the Event.
  • Teachers please note - there will be no additions to the printed program unless the omission is the fault of EBSDN
  • ​EBSDN has the right to amend the program at any time.
  • ​Performers and/or winner's names and/or photographs may be used on our social media and in the media. Should this not be appropriate the EBSDN office MUST BE notified.
  • ​EBSDN has the power to decide any question not contained in these rules and regulations.
  • ​Failure to comply wholly or partly with any of the rules and regulations may result in disqualification or the withholding of prizes. The decision of EBSDN on any question or dispute shall be absolutely final.
  • ​Performers must change in their designated area - No public area to be used for changing.
  • ​The use of the house curtain is prohibited.
  • ​Props must be free standing and able to be quickly placed on the stage.
  • No props that cause debris ie. talc powder, confetti, glitter or popping of balloons is allowed.
  • ​Duo and Trio sections, performers may perform three times in these sections.
  • In duos and  trios, the eldest performer must enter the relevant age section.
  • All performers must have at least one backup copy of their music on them... just in case.
  • ​No performer is to perform anywhere other than the stage area.
  • This includes entry, exits and absolutely NO jumping off the stage.
  • ​The right to call upon any PERFORMER or studio to furnish a birth certificate or copy thereof and to withhold any prize until such certificate has been furnished.
  • ​Inappropriate and suggestive movement, costuming and /or obscene language is not permitted, as The Adjudicator may comment and/or penalise.
