  • EBSDN TERMS AND CONDITIONS
  • Welcome to Everybody Sing and Dance Now.
  • By entering the competition, you agree that we are to provide an event that is a competition.
  • Our main goal is to always have a safe platform for young performers, to perform on.
  • What we are grateful for is your continued support, always.
  • Entry into EBSDN is subject to you agreeing to EBSDN Terms and Conditions..
  • Contact tracing will apply during EBSDN events, therefore all attendees MUST scan the QR code on entry to the competition.
  • Please make sure you, or anyone accompanying you are not showing signs or symptoms of a cough, cold or flu at the time of the event as stated by the relevant Government COVID-19 Restrictions, or if you have a fever, above 37.5 degrees Celsius, at the time of the competition.
  • If you are supposed to be in isolation at the time the competition commences as per current government guidelines, you are not allowed to attend EBSDN.
  • You agree to follow the directions of the COVID-19 Plan and Rules provided at all times when in attendance of EBSDN.
  • You must remove yourself or anyone accompanying you that have the above symptoms.
  • PLEASE READ AND AGREE at point of entry of your routines – THIS IS A STRICT MUST DO!
  • CONDITION OF ENTRY without agreement on your entry will not allow your entry to be processed.
  • The hosting of this competition is subject to the evolving impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Understand that an EBSDN LIVE event may be suspended or modified at any time without notice.
  • EBSDN will take all steps necessary to ensure that the competition is compliant with rules and guidelines issued by The Government leading up to and at the time of the event.
  • If at any point the GOVERNMENT changes the rulings of events, closes the border.
  • EBSDN will move do one of two things. A: The competition will become an online competition whereby each performer or troupe will upload a video to Music Uploads.
  • Each performance will be judged online with voice critiques and the same prizes we would have at a live competition, will be mailed to each performer or studio.
  • B: With the venues help we will reschedule the competition to future date.
  • Please understand that EBSDN is prepared and determined to run every event as planned in 2022.
  • The competitions that have opened for 2022 are all locked in, staffed and ready to go forward.  The only thing that will stop EBSDN is if the State Governments restrict us. It is possible that we may be have to postpone certain competitions.
  • EBSDN has successfully held online events, and we have successfully moved EBSDN to future dates and I feel secure in the knowledge that it will be successful.
  • Due to COVID-19 occupancy rules, limits, and restrictions EBSDN will not be selling spectator tickets for any 2022 events, at the door by cash.
  •  If you must purchase a performer registration pass at the door, it will be by card.
  • EBSDN has the right to amend the program at any time and combine sections.

  • Solo/Duo/Trio Performer Registration Fee - $35.00 includes entry for the performer and TWO guests, ONLY.
  • Due to Covid we have made the call to restrict audience numbers.

  • Mr or Miss EBSDN TITLE - $50.00 ( REPEAT ALLOWED)
  • EBSDN Student Choreography Title - $50.00 (REPEAT ALLOWED)
  • EBSDN Contemporary/ Lyrical Title - $50.00 (REPEAT ALLOWED)
  • Title Section Age Groups -  TINY TOT. PETITE. PRE JUNIOR. JUNIOR. PRE TEEN. TEEN. PRE SENIOR. SENIOR.
  • Any competitor who has been a regular pupil of the adjudicators within 1 year, prior to the opening date of competition may compete for critique only.
  • Entries close when competition is FULL.
  • Please enter as soon as you can to avoid disappointment.
  • Entries that have NOT been paid for will not be accepted until payment has been received.
  • Payment is via PayPal when entering online.
  • When entering through the website an invoice will be emailed to you.
  • This is not confirmation your entry has been accepted.
  • Entry is not accepted or processed until payment is received by Everybody Sing and Dance Now.
  • Entries can only be made with our online booking system and payment can be made with PayPal.
  • Entries cannot be submitted or paid for any other way.

  • TIME LIMITS
  • My First Year On Stage - 2 ½ minutes
  • Tiny Tots to Pre Junior Solos -  2 ½ minutes
  • Other Solo/Duo/Trio - 3 minutes
  • Troupes - 4 minutes

  • SECTION DEFINITIONS
  • My First Year On Stage: This is for performers who are NEW to performing.
  • Restricted: For performers who have not WON in that genre.
  • Open: For performers who have WON a performance in the genre entered.
  • Late Entry, Charges, Cancellations and Admittance
  • EBSDN DOES NOT HAVE A WAITLIST
  • EBSDN will not accept late entries, once an entry has been received there is NO REFUND.
  • NO refunds will be issued after your entry has been received and you cannot ask for a refund for change of mind.
  • PLEASE REFER TO REFUND SECTION.
  • EBSDN reserves the right to refuse entry to any person.
  • On entry you give your consent for EBSN to use and retain the name and image of your child for the purposes of public relations, media and promotion in print or through the EBSDN Facebook page and website.
  • This consent would remain in place for 3 years.
  • Entries must be received by the closing date.
  • You cannot make changes once the program has been finalised.
  • EBSDN reserves the right to combine low section numbers.

  • GENRES DANCE
  • Jazz - A routine that utilises jazz technique.
  • Tap - A routine utilising tap technique.
  • Hip Hop - A routine that consists of street styles of dance.
  • Song and Dance - A routine that combines singing and dancing.
  • Broadway Jazz / Musical Theatre  - Must be performed to music from musicals TV, film or stage.
  • Modern/Lyrical - A routine that Is a fusion of ballet, jazz and contemporary dance techniques.
  • Contemporary - A routine utilising a contemporary style of movement, which may be abstract or fluid.
  • Classical Ballet - A routine that consists of classical steps and ballet technique.
  • Demi Character - Based on classical ballet technique, the portrayal of a storyline must be strong and equal to the dance.
  • OPEN - A solo of mixed genres that does not fit into another category. It can also be a second genre.

  • PERFORMING IN ORDER OF PROGRAM
  • All entries are expected to perform at their scheduled day/time.
  • In extenuating circumstances, with advance notice, an entry may be permitted to Dance-Off.
  • All Dance-Offs are scheduled before the start of regular competition day. (It may require performing at 7.00am)
  • Dance-Offs will receive adjudication and a voice critique; however, they are in-eligible for placement within the category, Top 7 Champion or Champions or special awards.

  • MUSIC
  • EBSDN is a family event.
  • First and foremost - All music, lyrics and dance attire MUST be age appropriate! ​
  • Failure to comply will result in disqualification.
  • Time limits are the maximum allowed and will be counted from the moment the music or dialogue begins.
  • If performers go over this, you will receive a 5 point deduction.
  • Performers must adhere to copyright responsibilities.
  • EBSDN are not responsible for any infringement of copyright, royalty or privacy laws by performers or persons associated with the performance.

  • MUSIC UPLOADS

  • You will need to purchase a package from music uploads which start from $3 for the year and then an additional $2.50 per event.

  • ALL MUSIC MUST BE UPLOADED THROUGH THIS PLATFORM
  • You will find this easier to do on a computer as some phones are not compatible.

  • Only MP3 Format will be accepted.
  • All music must be uploaded and checked into the music system no less than 14 days prior to the commencement of the event.
  • Each performer, parent or guardian understands that a small fee will be applied at completion of upload and payable by the entrant.
  • It is the responsibility of the performers parent or guardian to ensure that the correct music files have been uploaded to each routine. If a music file is corrupt we would hope to have this identified in the 14 days prior to comp.
  • EBSDN does not have the ability to fix this, every effort will be made to advise you if possible.
  • However, music files are the sole responsibility of the entrant to ensure they are accurate and playable audio upon upload.
  • It is the responsibility of the performer to have a backup of their music.
  • This can be either USB or iPhone.
  • Our music staff will operate all music equipment.
  • All music must be cured and cut appropriately for the routine.
  • Vocals are permitted for Tap music, however please ensure they do not overwhelm the tapping.
  • Competitors may not accompany pre-recorded vocals in song and dance routines.
  • Each dancer will have registered with the Music upload programme when requested to do so after you enter, you are then responsible for remembering their log in details and passwords.
  • This is where any music changes can be made leading up to the event, including checking music during the event.

  • EBSDN MY FIRST YEAR ON STAGE
  • Upon entering this section, it is for those performers who ARE performing for the very first time!
  • Age groups will be as follows -
  • Petites 6 Under.  Pre Junior 7 to 8yrs. Junior 9 to 10yrs. Pre Teen  11 to 12yrs.
  • Teen 13 to 14yrs. Pre Senior 15yrs to 16yrs.  Senior 17 plus yrs.

  • EBSDN STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHY TITLE
  • If you would like your performer to enter EBSDN Student Choreography Title you must tick this section on entry.
  • This TITLE must be totally choreographed in its entirety by the student.
  • You must enter Student Choreograpy section and 1 other section to able to compete in this title.
  • Junior EBSDN Student Choreography Title - 9 Under
  • Pre Teen EBSDN Champion of Champion 12 Under
  • Teen EBSDN Champion of Champion 15 Under
  • Senior Championship – 16 Over
  • ONE WINNER IN EACH SECTION ONLY!

  • EBSDN CONTEMPORARY /LYRICAL TITLE
  • If you would like your performer to enter EBSDN Contemporary/ Lyrical Title you must tick this section on entry.
  • It's all about CONNECTION the connection between you, the adjudicators and the audience.
  • It's about not hearing a pin drop when you are performing!
  • To be able to enter this section, the performer must have danced in lyrical and contemporary sections.
  • EBSDN Contemporary/Lyrical Title will be judged on:
  • Technique 25
  • Choreography 20
  • Entertainment 20
  • Stage Presence 10
  • Costume 10
  • First Foot On Stage 5
  • Audience Factor 10
  • Total = 100​
  •  1 Winner and One Runner Up.

  • DUO OR TRIO  EBSDN TITLE.
  • If you would like your performer to enter EBSDN Duo or Trio Title you must tick this section on entry.
  • It's all about CONNECTION the connection between you, your partner and your connection to the audience and the adjudicators. 
  • Each adjudicator  will use a 100 point scale and will be based on - Connection Between Performers, Technique, Difficulty, Execution, Choreography and Overall Effect. Plus how the enter and exit the stage! 

  • Mr and Miss EBSDN​ ENTERTAINMENT TITLE
  • If you would like you performer to enter Mr or Miss EBSDN, you must tick this section on entry.
  • It's all about Entertainment and WHAT you bring in our MR and MISS EBSDN section.
  • It's about what the performers bring to entertain our audience in this title section.
  • To be able to enter this section, the performer must of danced in 3 sections.
  • Entertainment is what matters the most!
  • You can hear a PIN drop in a lyrical or contem
  • The roar of the crowd with a Tap, Jazz, Broadway Jazz, Hip Hop, Song and Dance.
  • Mr and Miss EBSDN will be judged on:
  • Technique 20
  • Choreography 20
  • Entertainment 20
  • Stage Presence 10
  • Costume 10
  • First Foot On Stage 10
  • Audience Factor 10
  • Total = 100​
  • 1 Winner and One Runner Up.

  • EBSDN CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - GRAND TITLE
  • EBSDN Champion of Champions, is the top 7 highest point scores from each age group.
  • Contenders will be announced at the end of their age group during final adjudication.
  • Yes there is a cost to enter - $50.00 which must be paid at the venue.
  • They must place in the top 7 of their age group and register with front desk asap and pay the $50 performance fee.
  • If you do not register your performer, your performer is not eligible to enter.
  • Once registered and paid, they will go through to EBSDN Champion of Champions Showdown and Battle it out for the TOP SPOTS!
  • What happens next?
  • The performers will perform their highest scoring routine that they performed in their section, on the final day of the competition.
  • They will then battle it out for the TOP SCORE in their age group with two adjudicators.

  • Intermediate EBSDN Champion of Champions 11 Under

  • ONE WINNER AND TWO RUNNER UPS IN EACH SECTION ONLY!

  • CHOREOGRAPHY ​OWNERSHIP.
  • Parents, Dancers and Teachers/Choreographers - Please be aware of what routines are being performed.
  • If a student has left a dance studio please ensure you have permission from past choreographers/teachers to be able to continue to perform routines who's ownership may be in question at any competition.
  • Please understand that disputes in regards to this must be mediated and handled with class on not on the social media platform, or the event itself by the parties involved.
  • Failure to do so we will see disqualification for all parties involved.
  • If on social media Everybody Sing and Dance Now is named for allowing a routine to go on stage EBSDN will impose a years ban to any EBSDN competition.
  • EBSDN will not get involved in this, we simply ask that you all do the right thing.

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • By entering EBSDN you agree to abide by the rules and regulations as outlined in our Syllabus.
  • EBSDN public liability does not comprehensively cover injury to performers therefore individuals and studios must ensure that they are adequately covered whilst performing or otherwise enter at their own risk.
  • By entering EBSDN, you give consent  to use and retain the name and image of your child for the purposes of public relations, media and promotion in print or through our social media and website.
  • This consent would remain in place for 3 years unless you advise otherwise.
  • Rules and Regulations pertaining to each section are outlined in this Syllabus and will not be repeated in the program.
  • Changes to some rules may occur from year to year, therefore it is imperative that all instructions are read carefully. Disqualification may follow if rules are not observed.
  • Time limits stated are maximum allowed.
  • Cameras are not permitted and mobile phones must be switched off at all times in dressing rooms and backstage areas.
  • Competitors must change in dressing rooms and public areas are not to be utilised as change rooms.
  • No food or drink permitted in dressing rooms apart from bottled water.
  • Absolutely no rehearsing in corridors, passageways or side stage.
  • Bullying - EBSDN, does not tolerate bullying, including inappropriate comments or actions.
  • This will NOT be tolerated at ANY - EBSDN Competition and will result in instant disqualification, upon investigation.

  •  PERFORMERS WHO STOP ON STAGE. 
  • Performers in Open Sections from  JUNIOR (8yrs to 10yrs)  and over cannot repeat their dance after forgetting it, they will be judged on what they have performed.
  • They will not be eligible for a place.
  • Repeats will be allowable for younger age groups at the discretion of the adjudicator.
  • Repeats in specially restricted and restricted sections JUNIOR and below,  after breakdown will be able to repeat their performance for the adjudicator and marked on such an attempt.

  • FIRST AID BE SAFE BE PREPARED!
  • Not all venues have the facilities for ice-packs.
  • Each Studio MUST provide their own first aid person, ice, and first aid kit for TROUPES!
  • EBSDN volunteers and staff are not responsible for providing any first aid equipment or ice/heat products.

  • REFUNDS - PLEASE READ
  • Please note, EBSDN (Everybody Sing and Dance Now) competitions are prepared months in advance.
  • We pay out for all prizes, venue deposits, insurances, staff, staff travel and accommodation, flooring, adjudicators, their travel and accommodation etc etc.
  • Your entries into our competitions, which you enter months or weeks before we run are what we use to pay for all the outgoings above.
  • DUE TO COVID-19 - If at any point the GOVERNMENT changes the rulings of events or they close borders, or you live in a hot spot or we as organisers live in a hot spot, or the venue move our dates.
  • EBSDN will move do one of two things. A: The competition will become an online competition whereby each performer or troupe will upload a video to Music Uploads.
  • Each performance will be judged online with voice critiques and the same prizes we would have at a live competition, will be mailed to each performer or studio.
  • B: With the venues help we will reschedule the competition to future date.
  • We have successfully held online events and have rescheduled competitions. I do feel secure in the knowledge that it will be successful.
  • If EBSDN moves online, we will ask you to upload your videos to Music Uploads and our adjudicators will still be able to give you voice critiques and you will be able to view the competition.
  • EBSDN (Everybody Sing and Dance Now), does reserve the right to change competition days or move the location due to unforeseen circumstances and entries will not be refunded, but we will give a credit to another of our competitions.
  • Performers are not entitled to any refund of fee or transfer of fees in case of nonappearance in any section or if you or your performer chooses, they do not want to perform anymore.
  • We DO NOT provide refunds for change of mind, change of mind regarding EBSDN rules, clash with
